Small Guy visits Stoysich Meats

Ah yes, good ole Stoysich!

My family loves visiting our neighborhood meat store located at 5170 Q Street in Omaha, but don’t be fooled and think that they only carry meats. I have loved going to their store from day 1. I went for the meat and have continued to go back because of the awesome feel inside of the place. Stoysich has been serving since 1949 and I can definitely see why they have lasted so long. This is a family owned business that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the doors.

I enjoy stopping by the place any day of the week, but I especially like to stop by on Fridays because they usually have some amazing cinnamon rolls stocked at the front counter! I cannot get enough of those things and I like to surprise my wife and kids with them by picking some up on the way home from work. My girls get excited anytime that they hear me mention Stoysich because they know that we are likely to leave with some beef sticks. The staff gives such great service every time and they offer samples to people as they are waiting or deciding on what to order. On multiple occasions I have held conversations with Mother Stoysich and Tracey just catching up on things. We talk about the neighborhood, vacationing, and our home improvement headaches. I truly appreciate these types of Small Guys that take the time out of their day and make customers feel more like friends.

As I said before, they don’t only carry meats. You can actually get a lot of you shopping done while you stop into their store. They have bread, condiments, snacks, candy, and some wonderful adult beverages. I usually stick to a few of the same things: Smoked Pork Chops, Bacon, Brats, and Beef Sticks. Those pork chops are so good and I can never get enough. I try to get every last bit of meat off of that bone. I have branched out from time to time by stopping to the deli counter and grabbing Cabbage Rolls or some other tasty side. We used to buy bones or pig ears for our dog, Rock, but he isn’t around anymore. Sniff sniff…I don’t want to bore you with that though. I can honestly say that I have been more than satisfied with every visit to Stoysich and I hope they stay around for many years to come!

If you enjoy great cuts of meat, great service and a family feel to your shopping trip I highly recommend stopping by and saying hello. If you do go on a Friday make sure to grab some cinnamon rolls. They are great for Saturday morning breakfast!
